Delhi court order to consider Brij Bhushan Singh charge sheet on July 1

On June 27th, Delhi court said it will pass an order to consider the charge sheet filed against WFI chief Brij Bhushan sharan Singh alleged in case of sexual harassment of six women wrestlers on July 1.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Harjeet Singh Jaspal after brief hearing said “fresh charge sheet filed. Let it be checked. Since it’s a lengthy chargesheet, will keep it for consideration after a couple of days.”

Delhi police charge sheet is of around 1000 pages filed against Brij Bhushan Singh on June 15 was filed before the CMM Mamta Rai of Rouse  Avenue Court under section 354 (assault or criminal force to women with intent to outrage her modesty), 354A (sexual harassment), 354D (stalking) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC.

The charge sheet also contains the name of Vinod Tiwari, Assistant secretary of WFI, who is currently suspended alleged under offences of section 109,354,354A,506 of IPC.

Along with this case, another FIR was filed against Brij Bhushan Singh of allegation made by minor girl under POCSO Act. But in this POCSO case delhi police on June 15 submitted a report seeking cancellation of FIR against Brij Bhushan Singh. Even the father of minor girl told PTI that he and his daughter filed ‘false’ police complaint against Brij Bhushan Singh.

Last week, CMM Mamta Rai transferred the case of sexual harassment to ACMM Harjeet Singh Jaspal which scheduled to consider the  charge sheet on June 27.
