The Election Commission of India (ECI) has declared the date for holding elections, for the seven seats to the Rajya Sabha. Elections will be held on October 4, and results will be announced, on the same day in the evening.
Five Rajya Sabhas seats fell vacant due to the resignations of the members, while one was due to the demise.
Polls will be held for two seats in Tamil Nadu and one in Assam, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Puducherry and Maharastra.
The seat in Maharashtra was represented by Rajeev Satav, who succumbed to corona.
N Gopalakrishnan, representing Puducherry, comes to an end on October 6.
The election for one MLC seat will also be held in Bihar.
