The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) is holding a two-day National Executive meet in Goa on 5th and 6th September, wherein all the national office bearers of the IYC anD state presidents are taking part.
The National Executive meeting commenced with the hoisting of the flag by IYC’s national in-charge Krishna Allavaru, and its national president Srinivas BV. The first day of the meeting was attended by the former Finance Minister of India, P. Chidambaram, and Goa Congress President Girish Chodankar.
P. Chidambaram, while addressing the meeting, stressed the burning issues like unemployment and the National Monetisation Pipeline, the country is dealing with and called upon the menders to highlight the same. He appraised the IYC members of the ramifications of the National Monetisation Plan, which the government of India has brought in without any deliberation.
The former Finance Ministers said, ‘the government of the day is hell-bent on handing over the national assets of the country to his coteries, which had been created over the lasts 70 years, to his coterie. This policy is a menace that has to be opposed.’
In the meeting, suggestions have been sought to launch a nationwide campaign against unemployment, inflation and farmers’ issue. The meeting will also draw a plan for the upcoming assembly election in five states.
