An incident that has gone viral on Social Media of a man being beaten in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, has thrown light on the illicitly procured dual Aadhaar by the victim.
The 25 years old Muslim man was thrashed, by people in Indore, for allegedly molesting a minor girl on the pretext of selling bangles. In the video, a group of men are seen beating the vendor selling bangles and hurling expletives.
The Muslim vendor named Tasleeem Ali, who is said to have disguised as a Hindu boy, was arrested by the Police is charged with molestation and fraud. The complaint against Tasleem was lodged by a class 6 student. The Police have booked Tasleem under Sections 354 (assault or criminal force on a woman) 54-A (sexual harassment), 467, 468, 471 (forgery), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) under the Indian Penal Code besides POCSO.
Meanwhile, the incident has taken a communal turn, and it is pushed as a communal incident by Muslim bodies and some afflicted organisations. Congress Minority Cell Head, Imran Pratapgarhi, has offered to provide legal aid to Tasleem and compensate for his loss. He sought to draw the attention of the Prime Minister to the incident.
Tasleem Ali, on the other hand, has alleged that he was robbed of Rs 10,000 by the miscreants and his bangles worth Rs 25,000, was also looted. Police have issued an adversary against the communal spin-off and requested not to fall prey to such agendas.
An FIR was also registered against an unknown person for thrashing the vendor. Three people named Rakesh Pawar, Rajkumar Bhatnagar and Vivek Vyas have been detained, by the Police for questioning, and verifications are underway against others.
A case has been registered against the members of the Muslim Nuamainda Committee for creating ruckus at the police station. Members of Muslim groups have been charged with wrongful restrain, rioting, use of incense words and criminal intimidation.
Police have found two Aadhaar bearing two different names and a burnt voter ID from Tasleem’s possession. Police also revealed, in one Aadhaar he is named Tasleem, son of Mohar Ali, while on the other, it is Asleem, son of Mor Singh. The burnt voter ID recovered from him does not clearly show his name, but the fathers’ name is printed as Mohan Singh.
The minor girl in his complaint stated that Tasleem introduced himself as Golu at the time of selling bangles. He on the pretext of helping her wear bangles looked at her indecently, grabbed her hand and inappropriately touched her cheeks when her mother was out to get water. Tasleem also threatened to kill and run away after she screamed.
Following this, locals chased Tasleem and thrashed him.
