Arrests in the drug run continue in Mumbai, and the latest high profile arrest is of TV personality Armaan Kohli. The Narcotics Crime Bureau (NCB) arrested Armaan Kohli under the operation ‘Rolling Thunder,’ which the central anti-drug agency has undertaken to weed drug rackets in the city.
Armaan Kohli was arrested following the raid at his home located at Vikash Park Society, Juhu house, where the NCB recovered a small quantity of cocaine. The NCB’s raid lasted for about six hours and commenced at 2 PM. The actor was inebriated when he was arrested, reported the NCB.
The actor’s name came up during an interrogation of a drug smuggler named Ajay Raju Singh, detained by the NCB. A large quantity of contraband was seized from the accused.
Drug rackets came to the fore after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput wherein numerous Hindi film actors and actresses had come on the radar of the investigation agency. Officials are also said to have unearthed international connections in this nexus.
NCB, under its operation ‘Rolling Thunder’, has arrested eight people by carrying out 15 raids in the last couple of days.
