Rahul Gandhi Unveils Ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi’s Statue At IYC Office To Mark His 77th Birth Anniversary

New Delhi. The former President of Indian National Congress, Rahul Gandhi, unveiled the statue of India’s Ex-Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, on the occasion of ‘Sadhbhavana Diwas’, at the IYC (Indian Youth Congress) office located in the national capital.

Rahul Gandhi also inaugurated a photo exhibition based on the life of the late Rajiv Gandhi, who is credited for paving the path for the country’s modern economy. The IYC organised several other events to mark the birth anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi, observed as the ‘Sadhbhavana Diwas,’ such as blood donation camps, Rangoli exhibition etc.

Srinivas BV, National President of IYC, stressed, Rajiv Gandhi’s vision continues to be the guiding principle, and his presence is still felt. Rajiv Gandhi was the youngest Prime Minister of the country who brought about a revolution in the information technology and comminution sector and laid the foundation for Digital India.

It was Rajiv Gandhi who connected the far-flung villages to the outside world, lowered the voting age to facilitate youth participation in an electoral democracy, strengthened the Panchayat Raj Institution and founded Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas to impart quality education to children coming from villages. He, in a true sense, was the architect of modern India, asserted Srinivas BV.

AICC Co-Secretary and National In-charge of Youth Congress, Krishna Allavaru, on the occasion, said, Rajiv Gandhi worked for the all-around development of the society and engineered peace in the country.

Neta D’Souza, Minority Congress Department ChairmanImran Pratapgarhi, AICC National Secretary Raghubir Singh Bali, Jitendra Baghel, IYC National Office-bearers, State President and Youth Congress workers, at the occasion.
